Our Pre school room is for children who are 4-5 years and are not currently attending the Kindergarten program at the service. This room has capacity for 16 children per day share an adjoining bathroom with the Kindergarten. We offer a play based learning program the supports both children’s independence and developmental needs.

The recently renovated outdoor environment is split level offering ample space with access from both Pre School and Kindergarten rooms. Our yard incorporates many natural elements with gardens cared for by children, sand, bark and logs to encourage children’ exploration and learning. To support children’s motor development we have a range of climbing and obstacle equipment, bikes and large trucks. We support children to participate in both small and large group play, encourage sharing skill and begin developing skills for conflict resolution within themselves.

Children and educators enjoy exploring sensory and messy play both indoors and outside, using natural elements such as water, dirt, mud, sand and clay. We ask that parent send multiple changes of clothes so children can participate and to accommodate for both food and toileting accidents.

The Pre School room begin having many visitors including community helpers such as Police, Fire and Ambulance. We also have a visitor from the library come to share a story and activities with the children to promote literacy and an interest with books and stories.

Children are active contributors to their learning with children sharing their thoughts, ideas and interests to assist in guiding the educational program within the room. We encourage children to build on their own learning through adding to experiences and contributing to group play and discussions. Children will continue developing their independence with self-serving at meal times and having  access to self-help stations  for drinks, tissues and sunscreen.
